The PM5355 S/UNI-622 ATM physical layer transmission convergence chi¥serves LAN backbones, public network switches, video servers and high-end file server interfaces operating at 622 Mbits/sec. The chi¥provides integration of Sonet and SDH framers, cell processors and buffer functions to offer STS-12c or STM-4c operation for a seamless interface from WAN to LAN. The device works with serial to parallel and parallel to serial conversion and clock chips. Available in a 208 pin 28䂐-mm plastic quad flat package, the chi¥costs $295 in quantities of 1000.
