Time Warner Communications Inc., Stamford, CT, is using the Cablespan telephony-over-cable system of Tellabs Operations Inc., Lisle, IL, to test the delivery of telecommunications services to residential customers in Rochester, NY. The technology trial is being conducted with Time Warner`s Greater Rochester Cablevision property, which serves 200,000 subscribers in the Rochester metropolitan area. This trial will test the viability and customer acceptance of telecommunications services provided over a broadband, two-way interactive hybrid fiber/coaxial-cable network.
