U-bracket assembly

Fiber-optic U-bracket assemblies transmit light from an optical fiber across an air ga¥and back into a second fiber with low losses. The bracket is pre-aligned at the factory and consists of an input fiber collimator and an output fiber focuser. Losses of 0.6 dB are achieved across a 60-mm ga¥for pigtailed singlemode fibers, with backreflection levels of -30, -45 or -60 dB. Insertion losses are 1.0 dB across a 60-mm ga¥for connectorized versions, with backreflection levels of -20 dB.
