OCTOBER 10, 2008 -- Net Insight (search for Net Insight) today announced an order from Dutch KPN Broadcast Services for an expansion of its existing national, multi-service media network to also provide TV feeds from the top 18 football stadiums in Holland.

KPN Broadcast Services is currently operating a large multi-service network, dubbed "MexNet," based on Net Insight's Nimbra platform. The network has been operational since the beginning of 2006 and provides services like video, data, and audio connectivity between all major TV studios in the Netherlands, all TV feeds for the digital terrestrial TV and mobile TV services.

KPN Broadcast Services is now deploying new Nimbra switches to also connect the Dutch "Honorary League" football arenas for live sports coverage.

"KPN Broadcast Services is running a demanding media network where they utilize most of the multi-service transport capabilities of the Nimbra platform," reports Fredrik Trägårdh, CEO of Net Insight. "We are pleased to support KPN Broadcast Services in their continued business expansion and further deployment of the Nimbra platform. The continuous addition of new services and applications to KPN's media network demonstrates the effectiveness of our solution," he adds.

The Nimbra platform is a versatile transport system and has several unique characteristics for DTT and mobile TV. In addition, says company representatives, it is flexible and cost-effective for advanced multimedia services in media networks with integrated video and audio interfaces such as ASI, SDI, HD-SDI, and AES/EBU and strong support for IP/Ethernet and SDH/SONET.

The order from KPN Broadcast was placed through Net Insight's Dutch partner Alphatron Broadcast Electronics, and the equipment will be delivered during the fourth quarter 2008.
