APRIL 17, 2008 -- Telecom Engineering (search for Telecom Engineering) has announced that its WDM Lite product line of DWDMs, CWDMs, and couplers can now accept transmission rates up to 40 Gbits/sec and protocols such as OC-768, STM-256, and 40G Ethernet.

Using WDM Lite 8- to 32-channel multiplexers and 40G DWDM transceivers, fiber transmission capacity can be increased to 1,280 Gbits/sec. Other product features include simple and quick installation, no power connection, no cooling, transparent to all protocols and transmission rates up to 40 Gbits/sec, compatible with all manufacturer's DWDM transceivers, and high reliability with MTBF estimated at over 1000 years, according to the company.
