Local exchange pact

ICG Telecom Group in Englewood, CO, has signed an interconnection agreement with Ameritech, a regional Bell operating company in Chicago, allowing ICG to become a fully competitive local exchange carrier in Ameritech`s region, beginning in Ohio. ICG currently operates fiber-optic networks in Cleveland, Akron, Columbus and Dayton, OH, and is constructing a network in Cincinnati. The company is also constructing a 331-mile fiber link among these networks. Its total fiber network is expected to exceed 600 route-miles in the state`s major metropolitan areas.
