Data-transmission modems

RS-232 optical modems for data transmission consist of single- or four-channel models that use SMA or ST optical connectors. Duplex optical ports are available for the four-channel models. The modems consist of a pair of units with a DS-25 connector and are powered by an external plug-in power supply or by the data terminal itself. The 2.13ٲ.63ٴ.20-inch units weigh 1.6 ounces. They suit applications where fiber-optic cable is already in place or where long distances exist between data points.
