A major long-distance company

A major long-distance company has signed a $27 million contract with IXC Communications Inc. in Austin, TX, for 44.736-Mbit/sec DS-3 private-line services between cities from coast to coast. Capacity is expected to be delivered via IXC`s all-digital fiber-optic network expansion. Service is expected to begin by year-end 1996, when 4000 miles of IXC`s 7000-mile network expansion project are completed (see page 1).
