High-speed networks

AT&T in Basking Ridge, NJ, plans to partner with Kokusai Denshin Denwa (KDD) of Japan to test the interoperability of high-speed broadband networks between the U.S. and Japan in support of the Group of Seven Nations` (G7) Global Interoperability of Broadband Networks Project. Leading telecommunications carriers from G7 nations are working together on the interoperability of bandwidth-intensive applications between their countries. AT&T and KDD are collaborating to provide trans-Pacific connectivity at 156 megabits per second. AT&T`s Interspan Asynchronous Transfer Mode network in San Francisco is expected to be connected to KDD`s network in Tokyo.
