Alameda, CA, and IXC Communications Inc., Austin, TX, have scheduled an Internet technical trial to transmit data using Synchronous Optical Network Internet Protocol technologies at OC-3 speeds of 155 Mbits/sec. The trial could mean faster access to the World Wide Web, as well as file sharing, video exchange and access to other Internet information resources.
