Optical amplifier

1610 OA fluoride optical amplifier provides flat gain access across the 1550-nm window. Signal-to-noise ratio and gain excursion are approximately 1.5 and 2.0 dB, respectively. Nineteen channels can be transported via WDM, or 16 channels with bidirectional WDM. This erbium-doped fiber system is optimized for land-based, high-density, long-haul telecommunications networks. It permits extended span distances, displaces conventional repeaters in existing routes and minimizes site requirements in new routes.
