Cable group sold

Northern Telecom, St. Laurent, Quebec, has sold its communications cable and structured wiring business to Pittsburgh, PA-based Cable Design Technologies Corp. Worth approximately $90 million, the transaction focuses on Northern Telecom`s structured wiring products, including the Dynatrax and Optimax lines. The new company is known as Nordx/CDT. All Northern Telecom operations, sales and manufacturing personnel will be retained, and the three manufacturing facilities located in Quebec and Ontario will remain open.
