Cabletel, a cable-TV company that holds the Glasgow, Scotland, telephone franchise, will begin constructing a fiber-optic network in the city`s center. The company will lay approximately 25,000 meters of cabling ducts passing 4800 properties. The project will give almost 5000 businesses access to the information superhighway. Cabletel is the third-largest cable company in the U.K.
