I/O expansion unit

The DMX4000 input/output expansion unit implements RS-232 communications via single, fiber-optic cables to each remote device. The unit enables links over distances to 2 km, with security from physical tampering, RFI emissions, environmental noise and effects of earth loops. Each device contains up to eight twin-port modules. Four units can be clipped together, allowing a maximum of 64 RS-232 ports, each communicating at 38.4 kbits/sec. Driver software is included. A dedicated power unit supplies one to four I/O units.
