The Fonsmitter fiber-optic transmitter uses external modulation and allows cable-TV and telecommunications companies to offer narrowcasting. The transmitter provides full-network redundancy and offers usable bandwidth from 5 to 850 MHz, as well as 80 standard analog channels.
