Microprocessor-based OTDR
Microprocessor-based OTDR
The TD-3486 optical time-domain reflectometer incorporates a 486DX processor and advanced design architecture to capture fast waveforms. In addition, fiber analysis software ensures almost instantaneous analysis and display of trace information. Users can test, display and print results, in many instances in less than 22 seconds. The OTDR features a color video graphics array that lets users customize screen displays by choosing from 64 available colors. It provides one-button test capability that selects pulsewidth, range, and resolution, and also automatically displays each features type, loss, reflectance, distance from the origin, loss and average loss of each fiber section, and end of fiber. Dual-wavelength testing, printing and storage of results are automated. The modular unit offers a range of modules from 32 to 40 dB to handle both high-resolution and long-haul requirements.
