ERROR-CORRECTION CHIPSET

The FiberStream forward-error-correction (FEC) chipset is designed for OC-48/STM-16 SONET/SDH applications. Its cornerstone, the VSC9210 FEC device for 2.5-Gbit/s telecom systems, provides the benefits of FEC in an optical communication link while eliminating the time and risk associated with custom ASIC development. The chipset also includes the physical layer devices for clock recovery, clock multiplication, and mux/demux.
