Internet connectivity boost for Balkans

DNS Europe has been awarded a contract by Telekom Srpske (Serbia) for the delivery of International Internet connectivity and implementation of the ISP, Internet Telekom Srpske.

The deal, which will help drive Internet capabilities across Bosnia-Herzegovina, was signed in Banja Luka at a ceremony attended by officials and senior executives from regional telecoms companies. Attendees included Prime Minister Ivanic, Republic of Srpske and Minister Dokic, Ministry of Communications, Republic of Srpske.

Over the next five years, DNS Europe will play a consultancy role in providing implementation, training and support services for technical, sales and marketing activities for setting up Internet Telekom Srpske.

BT Ignite will provide an STM-1 port into its PoP (Point of Presence) in Vienna, and DNS Europe will link to the port through an access line via Telecom Austria. The connection will offer dedicated bandwidth of up to 155Mbit/s through BT Ignite's fully managed Internet Backbone Service, making it the strongest of its kind in the region.
