In a panel session at August's Opticon 2002 event in San Jose, Ulf Persson, Director of System and Network Design for Swedish metro DWDM system provider Lumentis, presented a business model showing how Lumentis' unamplified approach can cut capex and opex by 60% and shorten time to revenue compared to amplified networks.
