Oct. 1, 2002

Marconi has launched its next generation of SDH products, branded Series 4, designed to offer service providers improvements in core and metro networks.

The new-generation product has been designed to be more cost-efficient than prior generations.

The new range includes Add/Drop Multiplexers and cross connects including the Series 4 SMA, the MSH2K and the MSH64C (which are available immediately) and the SMA16-64 (which will be available next year).

"SDH remains the technology of choice of major operators as they migrate towards data-centric networking," says Stefan Kindt, VP of marketing and project management for Optical Networks.
