'First' billing solution with storage facility

May 1, 2002

SchlumbergerSema (London, UK) and Compaq Computer Corp have jointly launched the industry's first customer-care and billing solution to integrate advanced storage area networks (SAN) technology.

It combines SemaVision BSCS customer-care and billing with the Compaq StorageWorks SAN solution to provide mobile operators with higher storage capacity and greater scalability to manage new data-intensive applications. They can now "plug and play", adapting storage configurations as needed. This should reduce storage costs and boost return on investment.

With next-gen data-intensive applications such as billing and customer care, operators need more storage capacity and rapid deployment with minimal disruption. In production, they need storage that can respond efficiently.
