Alcatel enhances Metro-E/SDH set

Alcatel is integrating Native Networks' Metro Ethernet technology to offer "enhanced" transport and aggregation of Ethernet, Fast- and Gigabit Ethernet, and RPR.

Rami Hadar, CEO of Native Networks, said, "The combination of Alcatel's next generation SDH systems with Native's technology will accelerate the adoption of advanced Ethernet Services."

Jean-Marie Vansteenkiste, President of Alcatel's optical networks activities, said, "Enhanced functionality will permit customers to incrementally upgrade the value of their Ethernet services."
