June 8, 2006 Lake Oswego, OR -- Timbercon, Inc. has launched the Light ARMOR fiber-optic cable assembly product line, designed to provide customers with lightweight, durable, and easy-to-work-with fiber cables for applications requiring more ruggedization than available with traditional optical patch cords.

The Light ARMOR fiber-optic cable incorporates the functionality of a traditional fiber cable with the durability and longevity of ruggedized cable, at a much lighter weight. Constructed with protective plastic jacketing, Timbercon Light ARMOR cable assemblies are crush resistant, bend limiting (protecting fiber minimum bend radius), and waterproof, making these cables suitable for a myriad of applications from interconnects to industrial and semi-harsh environment conditions.

This new product line is complementary to Timbercon's ruggedized stainless steel and harsh-environment product lines, providing clients with a single source for various types of ruggedized, protective, and harsh-environment products.

The Light ARMOR cable assemblies are available in simplex and duplex construction with LC, ST, SC, FC, MU, MIL ST, and MIL termini connector options, singlemode, multimode, or polarization maintaining fiber types, and a variety of custom configurations to suit any application.
