DECEMBER 19, 2006 -- Enablence Technologies Inc. has received a diplexer transceiver development contract from a United States aerospace and defense contractor.

"Enablence has received a contract for the development and delivery of 2.5-Gbit/sec diplexer transceivers for use in the aerospace and defense industries," announced Arvind Chhatbar, the CEO of Enablence Technologies Inc. "Delivery of these diplexer transceivers is scheduled for early in calendar year 2007.

"For this contract, the key advantages of Enablence's planar lightwave circuit (PLC) technology for diplexer transceivers are the integrated chip approach and the small form factor," outlined Chhatbar. "For applications in the aerospace and defence industry, Enablence's PLC approach can withstand greater stress and strain than competing bulk optics transceivers and therefore Enablence's products are well suited to meet the needs of this industry as well."

Enablence Technologies is not permitted to release the identity of the customer.
