OCTOBER 18, 2006 -- Content management and delivery company GlobeCast has selected Net Insight (search Net Insight) equipment for use in an upgrade of its worldwide fiber network at approximately 30 sites in Europe, Asia, and the United States.

This order follows the installation and successful implementation earlier this year of a network to carry more than 100 video, voice, and data channels between GlobeCast's facilities in France.

GlobeCast, a subsidiary of France Telecom, is a global content management and delivery company. Via its worldwide satellite and fiber network, the company manages and transports 10 million hours of video and other rich media yearly for its core customer base of broadcasters as well as corporate, government, and retail clients.

"Net Insight is honored to have been awarded a new contract and selected as the technical solution that best meets GlobeCast's high requirements in terms of performance, quality, and cost of ownership," contends Fredrik Tragardh, CEO of Net Insight.

"As our customer base grows and the use of HD increases, our network needs to keep up with the pace," adds Philippe Gautron, senior vice president marketing and product development at GlobeCast. "Net Insight is a logical partner for us in this effort and will help us ensure maximum reliability and quality of service."
