OCTOBER 12, 2006 -- AboveNet Communications, Inc. will provide Brasil Telecom of America, Inc./GlobeNet with diverse 10-Gbit/sec wavelength-based capacity for WAN/long-haul to their major carrier hotels.
Brasil Telecom of America, Inc./GlobeNet is an international carrier's carrier, with headquarters in Boca Raton, FL. GlobeNet operates a fully redundant, low-latency submarine fiber-optic network linking North and South America. Through its dual-ring, 22,000-km network, GlobeNet provides high-capacity broadband services and connectivity between the United States, Bermuda, Brazil, and Venezuela.
AboveNet's lit-wavelength services will enable GlobeNet to manage traffic and bandwidth requirements more efficiently.
AboveNet will provide GlobeNet with 10-Gbit/sec wavelengths from GlobeNet's cable landing station in Tuckerton, NJ, directly into telx's 60 Hudson Meet-Me-Room in New York City.
