February 13, 2006 Lake Oswego, OR -- The Fiber-to- the-Home (FTTH) Council has issued a Call for Papers for its 5th annual conference, the 2006 FTTH Conference & Expo, to be held from October 2-5 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The group says the event is the only gathering of its kind dedicated to the advancement and deployment of FTTH technologies. According to the group, this year's theme, titled "Innovations in Fiber to the Home: What's Next?," will explore the latest trends and innovations unfolding in the industry.
According to a press release, any paper consistent with the goals of the FTTH Council ("to educate, promote, and accelerate FTTH and the resulting quality-of-life enhancements") and reflecting this year's theme will be considered; papers that contain commercial sales material will not be accepted.
The conference will be divided into the following tracks: FTTH 101 - basic tutorial topics in FTTH; Plant and Fiber Methods, Procedures and Best Practices; Home Networking, Service Delivery and Technology; Case Studies and Success Stories; Legal and Regulatory issues; and a Poster session.
Abstracts should be a maximum of 500 words without pictures and must be commercial free. The abstract should describe the primary conclusion or result of the paper, including pertinent details of the work indicating the significant findings.
