MARCH 23, 2007 -- Company representatives say that both the SFP+ SR and the SFP+ LR offer power dissipation below 1 W, typically.
MARCH 23, 2007 -- MergeOptics GmbH (search for MergeOptics), supplier of low power modules for speeds of 10 Gbit/sec and higher, has announced the availability of its SFP+ (search for SFP+) LR modules.
The product will be demonstrated next week in MergeOptics' booth (#3526) at OFC/NFOEC 2007 in Anaheim, CA. The company also will be showing its second-generation SFP+ SR product, which accommodates the latest features of the SFP+ multi-source agreement (MSA), including multi-rate capabilities supporting data rates from 2 Gbit/sec to 10 Gbit/sec.
Company representatives say that both the SFP+ SR and the SFP+ LR will offer extremely low power dissipation, below 1 W typically.
"The SFP+ LR is another step to complete the industry's most comprehensive 10-Gbit/sec product portfolio," asserts Dag Neumeuer, president and CEO of MergeOptics. "The low power dissipation of MergeOptics' product family addresses in particular the [customers'] need [for] high port density."
