JANUARY 9, 2007 -- XO Communications (search for XO Communications) today announced that it is supplying high-capacity network services to Availius LLC, a subsidiary of FiberNet Telecom Group Inc., provider of complex interconnection services.

Per the agreement, XO is providing Availius with 2.5-Gbit/sec long haul and metro private line services and other high-speed transport services in multiple markets across the United States. Availius is utilizing XO nationwide long haul and metro network transport services to support its Network Solutions business, which provides network connectivity along with ongoing monitoring and management.

"With our Network Solutions business steadily increasing, so is our need for long haul transport services," reports John Dowd, vice president of business development for Availius. "XO has long been one of FiberNet's reliable providers so it was a natural decision to turn to them for these services," Dowd explains.

Availius LLC leverages FiberNet's resources to offer network and data facility operators a combination of intellectual capital and implementation capabilities in three areas: Network Solutions, Infrastructure Solutions, and Business Solutions, say Availius representatives.

"We're very pleased that Availius has chosen XO to supply network services that help meet the growing demand for its services," adds Ernie Ortega, president of XO Carrier Services. "By selecting XO, Availius recognizes the value of the XO network in providing its customers with the quality service and reliability they have come to expect."

With one of the largest and most advanced IP networks in the United States, XO Communications offers cable companies, carriers, content providers, large enterprises, and wireless service providers a range of high-capacity network transport services, including Ethernet, IP transit, private line, and wavelengths.
