JANUARY 4, 2007 -- UV15-7LRI is an optically clear UV-curable polymer system formulated by Master Bond Inc. (search for Master Bond) to have a 1.481 refractive index. UV15-7LRI is designed to produce durable, tough, non-yellowing, and chemically resistant bonds, seals, or coatings with excellent optical and electrical insulation properties.
Its tensile strength is 2,830 psi and its specific resistance is 1x1016 ohm-cm. The UV-cured polymeric material can be employed over the wide service temperature range of -50°C to +150°C (-60 to 300°F).
Cured UV15-7LRI exhibits durability, toughness, thermal shock resistance, and adhesion to many different substrates ranging from glass and iron to polyester films and polycarbonates. Typical cure times range from as little as 5 sec at ambient temperatures and, unlike many other commercially curable UV curing products, the UV15-7LRI system is not inhibited by air. In addition, the company says the system exhibits this desirable fast curing rate even in section thicknesses of 1/8-in. and has a thermal expansion coefficient of 18x10-5/°C.
UV15-7LRI is now available in syringes for manual or automatic dispensing as well as in pint, quart, gallon, and 5-gallon containers.
