JANUARY 16, 2007 -- RSoft Design Group (search for RSoft) and Optical Research Associates (ORA; search for Optical Research Associates) have developed a new interface to provide extended modeling capabilities for optical devices that span both macro and micro scales. The joint capabilities of RSoft's Component Design Suite and ORA's CODE VO software provide a convenient path to hybrid applications, the companies say.

Many optical applications require modeling with multiple optical simulation tools, each focused at different aspects of a design, including optical data storage (CD, DVD, etc.), digital camera systems, display backlight units, and many telecommunication devices. These applications require advanced simulation capabilities at multiple levels.

"Having optical design companies cooperate to develop convenient and easy to use solutions will accelerate the design process and speed time to market for the end user. We will continue to work with other companies that produce design software, and are committed to providing resources to assist our customer base," states Robert Scarmozzino, CEO of RSoft Design Group.
