CommScope Carrier Solutions goes Occam inside
JUNE 20, 2007 -- CommScope, Inc. has introduced its new 50B Compact Enclosure designed with Occam BLC 6000 telecommunication equipment.
The CommScope 50B cabinet (Occam's model RTC 4033) is a small-footprint outdoor enclosure measuring 15" wide x 25" tall x 33" deep with 6RU of 19-inch equipment rack space. Fully sealed, the modular design is meant to easily adapt to pad, pole, or wall mounts and is designed to accommodate growth.
The CommScope integration of Occam's BLC 6000 broadband carrier gear provides line counts of 24 up to 192 pairs of copper distribution, 20 up to 80 individual fiber distributions, or a mix of 96 copper and 40 fiber from the same enclosure.
"The cabinet is ideal for providing Occam's solution for voice, data, and video services for subscriber counts below 200 lines," according to Russ Sharer, vice president of marketing, Occam Networks.
The cabinet supports a variety of mounting options and accepts a wide range of power inputs including express power. The design also provides a high level of environmental protection and security, according to CommScope. The hinged, tamperproof doors can lift off to allow for mounting ease and flexibility. The enclosure features durable, graffiti-resistant gray or beige powder coat paint finish, an integrated backup battery module, and various alarms to detect such conditions as high temperature and intrusion. Fully sealed for maximum electronics protection, the enclosure is designed for GR-487 issue 2 and Zone 4 compliance.
