Optiwave releases latest optical system engineering and design validation tool

APRIL 25, 2007 -- OptiSystem 6.0 delivers a number of new features that facilitate the simulation and design of emerging optical communication technologies, including WDM-PON and radio-over-fiber systems.

APRIL 25, 2007 -- Optiwave Systems Inc. (search for Optiwave), provider of optical component and system design tools, today announced the immediate availability of OptiSystem 6.0, the latest version of its optical communication system design suite. According to the company, this major release delivers a number of new features that facilitate the simulation and design of emerging optical communication technologies, including WDM passive optical networks (search for WDM-PON) and radio-over-fiber (RoF) systems.

"OptiSystem's capabilities enhance our design process, allowing us to provide a rapid delivery of enhanced capabilities on our microWDM platform," notes Dr. Ahmed Atieh, technical lead engineer at BTI Photonics, an established Optiwave customer. "The technical support from the Optiwave team meets our expectations in achieving the desired simulation requirements."

The refined component libraries in OptiSystem 6.0 are designed to boost the productivity of optical engineering professionals developing designs for advanced optical communication systems.
