MAY 30, 2007 -- Multiplex Inc., provider of vertically integrated optical subsystems and components, has announced the expansion of its manufacturing operations in Dalian, China.

The first expansion phase consists of 30,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space at its wholly-owned subsidiary Multiplex Optoelectronic Technologies Co. Ltd. Multiplex says this production facility will supplement its main USA manufacturing operations in New Jersey.

"We expanded our Dalian operation in response to our customers' increased demand," reports Dan Meerovich, vice president of manufacturing operations at Multiplex. "Dalian is an excellent location with a large talent base that fits well with our need to expand our manufacturing capabilities," he notes.

The operation in China will facilitate Multiplex's continued drive to increase capacity while reducing operating costs, says the company. The manufacturing facility will be used to expand production of its current products as well as to introduce new components and subsystems in the near future.
