MAY 10, 2007 -- Tyco Electronics (search for Tyco Electronics) has introduced the CSX-2 144 outdoor centralized splitter cabinet. Suitable for pole-mounting or pad placement, the CSX-2 144 cabinet is an environmentally sealed enclosure for splitting and redistributing optical power from feeder fibers to distribution fibers. It provides the benefits of a subscriber interconnect facility and a test access location for the cable plant. The small cabinet footprint offers easy field placement and a pivoting parking lot with technician-friendly, full front cabinet accessibility, says the company.
According to Tyco, CSX-2 144 cabinets accommodate two 72-fiber distribution shelf assemblies, each comprising two 36-fiber subscriber shelves. The pivoting modular shelves facilitate field installation and expansion in addition to providing quick access to connectors and controlled pigtail handling, says the company. Additional features include a one-piece cabinet shell for improved, four-sided access to interior components and fiber radius and slack management controls to provide a simple and effective fiber management system.
Shelves in CSX-2 144 cabinets are pre-connectorized at the factory with a 72-fiber cable stub. The cabinet can be ordered fully loaded for 144 subscribers or partially loaded for 72 subscribers. Partially loaded cabinets can be expanded as capacity needs dictate, say company representatives.
