FEBRUARY 1, 2007 -- AT&T Inc. (search for AT&T) today announced a new optical and data-networking services contract with Judson College, a four-year Christian liberal arts college in Elgin, IL.

Per the three-year contract, AT&T will be the primary voice and data services provider for Judson College and will implement a SONET ring, as well as Managed Internet Service (MIS), for an improved communications network across the college's campus.

The infrastructure will support the addition of a new library on campus and will fulfill Judson College's need to accommodate additional network capacity by bundling all of the college's network connections on one continuous optical fiber structure, say Judson representatives. The infrastructure will also provide high speed Internet access through IP-backed facilities managed by AT&T.

"We needed a communications provider that would enable us to provide our students with the most up-to-date and efficient technology for their academic endeavors," recalls Steven Dutcher, Judson College's vice presidentEof Information Technology. "The optical networking services will not only support our new library and data center but will help us enhance our entire communications network so that we can support additional technologies in the future and continue to improve the educational experience for our students," he adds.
