Mexican carrier Telgua signs multi-year lease agreement with New World Network, majority owner of pan-Caribbean network ARCOS

September 21, 2004 Miami -- New World Network, Ltd., the principal owner of the Americas Region Caribbean Optical-ring System (ARCOS), announced today that it has signed a multi-year lease agreement with Telgua, the leading telecommunication provider in Guatemala, which will significantly expand Telgua's high-speed IP connectivity in the region via the ARCOS fiber-optic network.

September 21, 2004 Miami -- New World Network, Ltd., the principal owner of the Americas Region Caribbean Optical-ring System (ARCOS), announced today that it has signed a multi-year lease agreement with Telgua, a telecommunication provider in Guatemala, which will significantly expand Telgua's high-speed IP connectivity in the region via the ARCOS fiber-optic network.

This agreement provides Telgua with carrier-grade IP services. New World Network IP transit service provides connectivity to the majority of the Tier 1 backbone providers through the broadband fiber-optic network using next generation routing technology.

ARCOS is an undersea broadband fiber-optic cable network connecting the U.S., Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. The network has a hybrid ownership structure. It is co-owned by 28 carriers throughout the region, led by New World Network, the principal owner with approximately 88.2% interest.
