December 6, 2004 Foxboro, MA -- VoIP service provider SunRocket has selected the Access211 VoIP broadband Internet gateway from Telco Systems to be the official SunRocket plug-and-play "Gizmo," which enables subscribers to make and receive phone calls and faxes over broadband Internet connections using standard telephones and fax machines.

"We selected the Access211 VoIP gateway from Telco Systems to be the SunRocket Gizmo because it provides unmatched voice quality and supports a number of features and capabilities not available on other gateways, but essential for our unique service requirements," said Robert Mainor, SunRocket's COO. "The Access211 enables SunRocket to provide a high-quality, feature-rich home phone service and deliver on our promise to make Internet phone service easy and affordable."

Some of the Access211 features and capabilities absent on other gateways that prompted SunRocket to select the Access211 include distinctive ringing; Internet faxing; two telephone ports that concurrently support advanced compression technology for two different phone numbers; integrated routing, which eliminates the need for an external router; and advanced quality-of-service features such as traffic shaping, which contributes to superior voice quality.

Following competitive field trials earlier this year, SunRocket selected the Access211 gateway and now includes the device in the self-installation kit that SunRocket provides to its customers when they sign up. Customers connect the Access211 between a DSL or cable modem and a personal computer, plug a standard telephone and fax machine into the Access211, and within 10 minutes the customer is ready for Internet phone calling.

SunRocket charges $24.95 per month or $199 for a full year, with no additional charges for service activation, equipment, taxes or shipping.

Larry Asten, president of Telco Systems, said, "Having the Access211 selected as the SunRocket 'Gizmo' is a real industry coup. We're honored to be affiliated with SunRocket, which is already recognized in the industry as a high-quality, innovative VoIP service provider."

The Access211 has passed interoperability tests with SunRocket's technology partners, including Sylantro Systems Corp., and supports the full suite of SunRocket features including voicemail, message waiting indicator, caller ID with name, distinctive ringing, call waiting, and 3-way calling. The Access211 also supports lifeline phone service.
