July 13, 2004 Quebec City, Canada--EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc., is releasing ToolBox Office R/T Pro software for managing optical test data and generating comprehensive reports.

The ToolBox Office R/T Pro integrates test results from various EXFO instruments--optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR), organization level test set, chromatic dispersion and polarization mode dispersion--and from different form factors--FTB-400 UTS, FTB-300 UTS, FTB-100B Mini-OTDR, FOT-930 MaxTester/FOT-920 MaxTester--within a Windows-based software interface. Furthermore, the software allows test result management of OTDR traces of competing instruments, providing more flexibility for report generation.

This highly intuitive software not only allows the user to view data acquired from several instruments with its universal viewer, but also to group data in a single and easy-to-read fiber characterization summary report.

The ToolBox Office R/T Pro displays all test results related to a specific project and performs pass-fail threshold analysis within seconds. In addition, it features a batch processor and cable report generator to optimize management of OTDR test data.

"This latest software release is designed to save time and boost productivity once all the test data has been compiled in the field," explained tienne Gagnon, EXFO's vice president of physical-layer product management. "Users can efficiently combine data from a handheld instrument with that from a test module to determine whether the results fall within required thresholds. It's not only a time-saver but a money-saver for our customers."
