KMC Telecom Holdings Inc. (Bedminster, NJ) extended its current agreement with Lucent Technologies

KMC Telecom Holdings Inc. (Bedminster, NJ) extended its current agreement with Lucent Technologies (Murray Hill, NJ) to provide complete network solutions for KMC. The four-year contract extension has a potential value of up to $600 million. Lucent will supply KMC with switching, transport, access, and data products, as well as software and professional services as it expands its data and voice networks across the southeastern and midwestern United States. Network Plus (Quincy, MA) also awarded Lucent a three-year, $30-million contract to provide switching and transmission infrastructure for an optical network expansion. The first application of these high-bandwidth technologies will be available on Network Plus`s fiber routes linking Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York.
