Corning Inc. (Corning, NY) filed suit against Fibercore Ltd. (Southhampton, UK) for allegedly infringing two of Corning`s optical-fiber patents and for unfair competition. Corning is seeking an injunction and unspecified damages in a suit filed in the U.S. District for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago. According to Corning, Fibercore has been using Corning`s U.S. Patents 4,339,173 and 4,478,489 to manufacture optical fiber and sell it in the United States.
