A Day in the Life of Tower Climbers Taking Fiber to the Top

To overcome pressing challenges in wireless coverage and capacity, Fiber-to-the-Antenna (FTTA) is being massively deployed every day, everywhere. Over the past years, EXFO's test experts have been working closely with mobile network operators (MNOs) and their contractors to help them deploy a new breed of fiber networks: FTTA.

To overcome pressing challenges in wireless coverage and capacity, Fiber-to-the-Antenna (FTTA) is being massively deployed every day, everywhere.

Deeply involved in helping deploy this new breed of fiber networks, EXFO's test experts recently took to the field and spent a whole day with NIS, a major US-based contractor installing FTTA. We followed Josh, Jerry and their tower crew as they upgraded a cell site with fiber.

Our mission: to capture a real-life FTTA situation that demonstrates the challenges they face, the best testing practices and the value of standardized test methods. Watch this highly informative mini-documentary to learn everything about their daily challenges and best practices as they take fiber to the top.
