Huawei: C+L Integrated WSS Module

Huawei’s C+L integrated wavelength selective switch (WSS) is a key component for constructing an optical-layer ROADM site on a transmission network.

Huawei’s C+L integrated wavelength selective switch (WSS) is a key component for constructing an optical-layer ROADM site on a transmission network. Unlike traditional solutions, Huawei's platform only requires one WSS component to implement integrated C6T+L6T scheduling. Also, the integration and scheduling capability of the WSS module are doubled, the O&M is more straightforward, and the power consumption is lower. The optical-layer solution uses C+L integrated WSS components and the optical backplane and optical connector technologies of the OXC equipment to provide a maximum of 32 x 100 Tbps optical-layer scheduling capability.
JUDGE'S COMMENT: "This device provides significant component consolidation for C+L network deployments by integrating complete ROADM functionality across both C and L-band spectrum while supporting a higher number of degrees and add/drop wavelengths."
