Marvell: Alaska A 1.6T PAM4 DSP for Active Electrical Cables

Feb. 26, 2025
Marvell’s Alaska A 1.6T PAM4 DSP is a 1.6 Tbps DSP solution for active electrical cables (AECs) in data centers.

Marvell’s Alaska A 1.6T PAM4 DSP is a 1.6 Tbps DSP solution for active electrical cables (AECs) designed to address the rising bandwidth demands of accelerated compute infrastructures within data centers. Built on Marvell’s 5 nm PAM4 technology, the Alaska A DSP enables short-reach copper interconnect solutions that are both cost-effective and energy-efficient, helping cloud and AI data center operators optimize their infrastructure. By extending the reach of 200G/lane copper connections within high-density racks, Alaska A reduces the need for more costly fiber solutions, thus lowering overall infrastructure costs and improving operational efficiency for hyperscale data centers.
JUDGE's COMMENT: "This product will benefit AI clusters and short-reach applications."
