R&M address FTTH density deployment needs with expanded SYNO splice line

March 10, 2025
Service providers can use the enhanced SYNO series solutions to reduce further the number of fibers needed for FTTH rollouts in the splice closures.

R&M is broadening the family of SYNO fiber splice closures so that telecom companies can compact their infrastructures and expand Fiber-to-the-Home offerings in various ways. The SYNO-S fiber optic splice closures can be resealed.

A big focus of the expanded product line is flexibility.

The new S-400 and S-500 fiber outdoor splice closures and their high-density variants can quickly retrofit, densify, or change wiring. They support several configurations simultaneously. Single fiber splices, ribbon fiber splices, and splitters can be combined on up to eight stacked tray modules.

The maximum configuration of the S-500/HD splice closure offers space for up to 3,456 ribbon fiber splices. The eight lead-in segments of the SYNO fiber optic splice closures can be used for all common cable types, including ribbon cables. They are individually sealed with gel blocks.

Technicians can configure the splice closures on-site as required. Mounting the cable entries, trays, splice, and splitter holders does not require special tools.
