The Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) and the Ethernet Alliance will once again showcase interoperability breakthroughs with live demonstrations and expert discussions at OFC 2025

At the OIF, thirty-five members of the industry group will demonstrate the future of optical and electrical networking for AI, cloud, and disaggregated architectures.

Some of the highlights include:

·       800G technology in the pluggable coherent optics demonstration

·       A live Common Electrical I/O (CEI)-448G, 224G, and 112G demo advancing next-gen data center connectivity

·       Common Management Interface Specification (CMIS) plug-and-play interoperability

·       Energy-Efficient Interfaces (EEI) and co-packaging solutions for AI compute and external laser integration.

In its demonstrations on the show floor, the Ethernet Alliance will once again host its annual live interoperability demonstration.

Located at booth 5173, the exhibit showcases Ethernet’s evolution in speed, efficiency, and performance. From 10 gigabit Ethernet (10G) to 800G, the Common Management Interface Specification (CMIS), Auto Negotiation Link Training (ANLT), and cutting-edge AI-driven technologies, including congestion control and SmartNIC load balancing, will be on display.

The Ethernet Alliance also unveiled the 2025 edition of its Ethernet Roadmap at OFC 2025. Celebrating its 10th anniversary as the only comprehensive industry roadmap guiding Ethernet's evolution, the 2025 edition addresses advancements in high-speed Ethernet, AI/ML integration, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), and sustainability efforts.
