CleanArc Data Centers, a developer and operator of renewable-focused hyperscale data center campuses, has received a strategic investment from Nuveen, TIAA's investment manager.
Nuveen's backing provides strong financial resources and strategic capabilities to support CleanArc's expansion efforts.
Clean Arc said the investment will help fast-track the development of its flagship data center campus in Virginia, which is designed to deliver 300 MW of capacity by the first quarter of 2027.
Also, the site will receive two 300 MW transformers in late 2026, one of the largest 2N power deliveries to the Virginia global cluster for a data center campus. The groundbreaking for the new campus is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
As a strategic investor in Snowhawk, Nuveen said its investment reflects growing interest in digital infrastructure and deepens its exposure to CleanArc's platform as demand accelerates across the sector.
Snowhawk remains the majority stakeholder in CleanArc, now joined by Nuveen and Townsend Group as minority growth partners.
Isela Bahena, managing director, Nuveen Infrastructure, said, "As CleanArc continues to scale, we believe it's well-positioned to play a defining role in the future of data center development."
