Comcast brings broadband to Northeast Madison County, Mississippi
Comcast has completed a network expansion to connect thousands of homes and businesses in northeast Madison County, Mississippi. For the first time, residents and businesses can access Xfinity Internet, mobile, entertainment, and security services. The project was made possible by $4.8 million from Madison County, $4.9 million from the State of Mississippi, and a $7.6 million investment from Comcast.
Dobson Fiber commits to Coalgate, Oklahoma, fiber internet expansion
Dobson Fiber announces another multimillion-dollar expansion of its fiber internet offering, with a groundbreaking in Coalgate, Okla., today, alongside city and chamber officials. Today, Dobson Fiber’s network includes more than 49 communities across a wide geographic area in Oklahoma and five diverse communities in Arkansas, and continues its mission of delivering broadband solutions to both rural and urban communities. Dobson Fiber's commitment to enhancing connections and delivering unparalleled internet speeds of up to 10 GIG to residents and 100 GIG to businesses with the lowest latency in their footprint by leveraging Dobson’s high-capacity optical middle-mile network with the best peering in the area.
Glo Fiber targets 12K Zanesville, Ohio, locations with fiber broadband
Glo Fiber has launched its fiber broadband service in initial neighborhoods in Zanesville, Ohio, with construction expected to be completed by summer 2026, providing about 12,000 homes and businesses with a new high-speed internet option. The service provider now offers symmetrical 8 Gbps speeds. Fiber-to-the-home technology and Shentel’s 18,000-mile regional fiber network enable Glo Fiber to deliver high speeds across its markets, including the growing list of communities in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.
Spectrum brings Gigabit broadband service to Orange County, North Carolina
Spectrum has launched Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to more than 3,100 homes and small businesses in Orange County, North Carolina. This multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Spectrum. It will ultimately add 100,000+ miles of fiber network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical, multi-gigabit-speed internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations nationwide. The company has also begun a network evolution that will provide gigabit upstream speeds and multi-gigabit download speeds across its entire 41-state service area.
STELLAR Broadband and 123NET pact to extend fiber connectivity between Lansing and Grand Rapids, Michigan
STELLAR Broadband struck a partnership with 123NET to expand fiber connectivity from Lansing to Grand Rapids. In addition to the Lansing-to-Grand Rapids expansion, STELLAR is securing capacity on 123NET's newly constructed Southfield-to-Lansing fiber route, creating diverse network paths, increased capacity, and improved reliability for communities and businesses across Michigan. The Lansing-to-Grand Rapids agreement secures critical capacity for approximately 83 miles of newly constructed, underground high-density optical fiber. When combined with the existing eastern route, the project establishes a total network reach of roughly 225 miles, linking Detroit (Southfield), Lansing and Grand Rapids.
Ziply Fiber’s Cottage Grove, Oregon fiber network to serve 2.5K locations
Ziply Fiber's new network in Cottage Grove, Oregon, now serves more than 2,100 addresses, with more than 2,500 under construction across the city. With more work underway in Cottage Grove, residents can expect increased activity and access to services in the coming weeks.
