Brightspeed’s Virginia fiber build is 60% complete

Meantime, construction of the fiber network is well underway in dozens of Virginia counties, including Rockbridge County, where nearly 1,400 homes and businesses already have access to superfast Brightspeed Fiber Internet. Once the build is complete, nearly 4,600 locations in the communities of Brownsburg, Buena Vista, Glasgow, Lexington, and Natural Bridge will be fiber-enabled.

Comcast serves up broadband for three Southeast Georgia communities
Comcast has expanded its network to more than 1,700 homes and businesses in three Southeast Georgia communities in Brantley County. Comporium invests $7.8M to expand its rural fiber reach in South Carolina
Over 1,250 homes and businesses across multiple South Carolina counties now have access to Comporium’s fiber-based broadband internet service. Over the past several months, Comporium has built more than 138 miles of fiber to reach these areas, investing over $7.8 million to expand its network. Customers can now access speeds of up to 5 Gbps, improving connectivity and quality of life in rural communities. Comporium funded this expansion through a combination of private investment and state-issued Capital Projects Fund (CPF) grants, made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act and administered by the South Carolina Broadband Office. This partnership allows Comporium to reach more rural locations with its advanced network. The company continues to work with state and federal partners to expand and improve services in underserved areas.

Conexon Connect has completed its thirteenth electric cooperative fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network since the ISP's launch in 2021. The 2,300-mile network built in partnership with Warner Robbins, Ga.-based Flint Energies deepens Connect's expansion into rural Georgia. This project is Conexon Connect's eighth electric cooperative broadband project completed in the state, bringing the ISP's total reach in rural Georgia to more than 187,000 homes and businesses. The Connect, powered by Flint Energies, delivers broadband access to 31,000 members in Crawford, south Houston, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Peach, Schley, Talbot and Taylor counties.
