Brightspeed completes 60% Fiber Build in Illinois
Brightspeed’s fiber network is more than 60 percent complete in Illinois, serving nearly 31,000 homes and businesses, with more than 51,000 locations planned statewide. The Brightspeed Fiber Internet network is 100 percent complete in Savanna and North Pekin. Brightspeed's Illinois expansion is supported by $3.2 million in federal Broadband Equity and Access Deployment (BEAD) funding to build an additional 1,200 locations, boosting the company's private investment in the state.
C Spire completes Mississippi Capital projects fund to expand broadband
C Spire completed its allocation of the Mississippi Capital Projects Fund, enabling it to provide home fiber access to more than 14,000 residences and 18,530 undeveloped lots across Amite, Lincoln, Lamar, Madison, DeSoto, and Hinds counties. It also positively impacted some of Mississippi's most underserved communities. C Spire was awarded the grant from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Capital Projects Fund. This $10 billion program funds critical capital projects to ensure all communities have access to high-quality, modern infrastructure, including broadband, needed to access critical services. The project, administered at the state level by BEAM, the Office of Broadband Expansion and Accessibility of Mississippi, was part of $164 million in total funds allocated to Mississippi for the construction and deployment of broadband infrastructure to deliver service that reliably meets or exceeds symmetrical speeds of 100 Mbps.

Once construction is complete, more than 3,300 homes and businesses will have access to symmetrical broadband speeds. With this expansion, thousands of Bristol residents will join customers in Sea Bluff, Ansonia, Stratford, East Haven, Hartford, and more than 40 other communities already powered by GoNetspeed, with many additional areas currently under construction.
Greenlight Networks advances its Northeast Pennsylvania fiber buildout
Greenlight Networks is set to accelerate the construction of its fiber internet network across Wilkes-Barre, Scranton and surrounding Northeast Pennsylvania communities in 2026.
